Studio Spicer Architects was appointed, in 2014, to design a contemporary rear extension to this previously re-built barn conversion, replacing an existing, poorly performing summer house.
The project aimed to incorporate most of the rear elevation and included building up to the party-wall line. Early discussions with property neighbours led to an extension of the project, to include their brief, too.
The project, a well-detailed and aesthetically pure structure, was subject to very tight budgetary constraints and high-quality expectations.
