Studio Spicer and Williamson Properties combined their architectural and construction experience to redevelop The Orchard on St Mary’s Road in Stratford-upon-Avon into four contemporary, bespoke urban villas.

Conceived as a hinge in the streetscape, the new architecture resolves the disjunction between the existing Arts and Crafts properties to one side and the post-war houses to the other.

The site’s original property, The Orchard House, an architecturally notable 1950s self-build, was demolished to make way for the new villas. In doing so, the introduced homes extend the area’s character and represent a further social evolution in the location’s architecture.

The simple, subtle detailing of the new dwellings references the ambitious Arts and Crafts style of neighbouring properties, while their form and materials establish clear links to the road’s more modern, post-war homes.

Internally, the four high-specification homes feature exclusive, contemporary interiors crafted from the highest-quality materials, tailored to create modern family living environments to an exceptional standard.
