The Cricketers is a former nursery within the Green Belt, adjacent to a much-loved cricket club and set in one of the Midlands’ most sought-after locations, redeveloped into six luxury family homes.
Chestnut Walk
Commissioned to redevelop a former doctor’s surgery in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon, the site adjoins the Grade II listed Trinity College and is surrounded by other listed buildings, presenting both spatial and conservation challenges.
The scheme comprises a formal terrace of townhouses with basement and rooftop accommodation to maximise the site’s potential.
The south façade is generously glazed, and each home features a distinct window arrangement with subtle variation in form and detailing.
Petersen bricks were selected for their colour and texture, with the long, slender Danish format providing a contemporary contrast within the historic setting.
Shottery Hall
A former country home, destroyed by a fire in the 1980s and left in disrepair, was transformed into a new village development of 32 family homes on the outskirts of Stratford-upon-Avon, following the resolution of complex planning challenges.
Hall Farm
Commissioned to design the redevelopment of a former cattle farm in Knowle, located in the Green Belt with a difficult planning history, having been refused permission on multiple occassions for various forms of development.
By combining contemporary design with sensitive reuse of the existing character buildings, support of the local planning authority was earned.
Substantial brick-built barns were extensively refurbished and converted, and partnered with a series of bespoke, agriculturally inspired dwellings, creating a micro-community, centred around a communal courtyard.
