Approached to assist with the purchase of a former family-run butcher’s, Studio Spicer prepared initial proposals to remodel the traditional shop into a modern, Cotswold-style deli and butcher.

Situated on the High Street in Chipping Campden, the Grade II listed building sits within the Conservation Area and remains of significant interest to the local community.

The wider remodelling included converting the former abattoir and store rooms into three holiday lets, alongside securing permission for a new restaurant and brasserie.

Consideration was also given to accommodating a new home within the site. 

The resulting design delivers a thoughtfully contemporary Cotswold-style house that can adapt to the client’s changing needs. Using high-quality local materials such as stone, oak and zinc, the new building integrates sensitively with its historic surroundings and positively enhances the character and appearance of the local landscape.
