One off Lakeside House

Warwickshire

Client: Private

Contract: Self-Build

Role: Architect

Current RIBA Work stage:  5

Summary of project and current status:

Arden lakes is a large one off dwelling that was granted permission in early 2022.

The scheme is divided into two phases, starting with the replacement dwelling and associated landscaping, followed by phase two, the fishing lodges that will serve the fishery business. Both phases will create waterside retreats, capturing panoramic views of the surrounding open countryside.

The dwelling is a contemporary home designed to nestle into the landscape with the lower ground floor level sunken into the landscape. The upper ground floor appears as a single storey, constructed in long format Danish bricks, large apertures, and a zinc roof and canopy.

Construction has started onsite, with the lower-ground floor retaining walls, the precast floors and steelwork rising out of the ground.

We continue to liaise with our client who is self-building the development, and we look forward to moving forward with phase two of the project.
