Studio Spicer were commissioned pre-Covid 19 to design a new family home set in the rural Warwickshire countryside. The site a former horticultural nursery was now defunct, and through strategic planning advice the site gained approval for conversion of the existing barn in to a new dwelling.

This approval formed the ‘fallback’ position to which we negotiated the replacement of this for a new contemporary dwelling suitable for a family life post Covid. The new dwelling is sustainable through the design, fabric, re-use of on-site materials and energy usage.

This home is unique in so far as it has no ego, no desire to stand out, rather to fit in and improve the world it is within .

Planning Approval Granted by Warwick DC 2021.
