Studio Spicer Granted Planning Permission for “Gateway” Development in Stratford-upon-Avon
The practice worked closely with Stratford-on-Avon District Council planning officers and conservation team to develop a clean, modern, new building design, reflecting the local vernacular.
Final proposals are for a high-specification, nine-apartment, four-storey, mixed-use development, incorporating 167m2 of commercial space and clad in Corten steel, zinc and hand-made Danish brick.
The site is regarded as a gateway to the centre of town, provides a link to the railway station, to the west of Stratford and acts as a confluence of the main Alcester and Grove Roads.
Construction will begin 2018, completion scheduled for 2019.
